We are so pleased to provide an update on the Treble Reel competition charitable donation. We had almost 50 participants in the Treble Reel competitions at the 2014 Gem City Feis. This allowed us to donate $450 to the Martin Richard Charitable Foundation. We appreciate your support of this deserving organization.
Costumes for the treble reel competitions are optional.
Because entry fees for these competitions will be donated to the Martin Richard Charitable Foundation, costumes should reflect happiness or Martin’s motto of “No more hurting people. Peace.”
The vendor list for the 2014 Gem City Feis has been updated with our confirmed vendors. As we continue to confirm vendors, the list will be updated.
The window for online registration changes and late entries at www.QuickFeis.com closes tomorrow, September 30, 2014. Starting October 1, the only way to make changes or late entries will be at the Gem City Feis (October 11, 2014) itself.
Entries for the Gem City Feis will close on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 (unless the cap is met). Late entries (with a late fee attached) will close on September 30, 2014.
After September 30, 2014, all entries and any changes to entries must be done in person at the feis. For more information on our entries, competitions, and fees, see our Registration and Syllabus page. To register for the Gem City Feis, go to www.quickfeis.com.
***CHANGE to how the Prelim & Open Championship competitions will run on the day of the feis:
Due to the nationwide SAT test that will take place on the date of our feis, The Gem City Feis Committee has decided to change the competition order for our Championship Stages. Competitions will run from YOUNGEST to OLDEST this year (due to the SAT test) and Competitors will dance the soft shoe round first.
All proceeds from the 2014 Treble Reel entries will be donated to the Martin Richard Foundation. The Treble Reel competition will take place during the lunch break this year.
Martin Richard was 8 years old when he was killed by a bomb at the 2013 Boston Marathon. His mother Denise and sister Jayne, an Irish Step Dancer with the Clifden Academy, were injured.
